BUDAPEST, Hungary, Dec 14, 2016 – GRAPHISOFT, the leading building information modeling (BIM) software developer for architects, has announced the release of its intelligent Grasshopper–ARCHICAD Live Connection for the Mac OS. This industry-first, bi-directional “live” connection allows Rhino and Grasshopper users to connect to a professional BIM software (ARCHICAD) on both the Windows and Mac operating systems.
- In the latest RhinoWIP, we have fixed a bug that caused some of the default Grasshopper keyboard shortcuts to override some critical macOS keyboard shortcuts(think Command+Q). Most of the keyboard shortcuts remain the same, but a few have changed. Here is a list of the changes with the new shortcuts in boldon the right.
- Rhino 6 for Mac and Windows. Rhino 6 for Mac and Rhino 6 for Windows are nearly the same. Check out the differences.
For example, GRASShopper can verify properties about data stored in heap-allocated structures (such as sortedness properties) even though there is no dedicated inbuilt support for this in the tool. GRASShopper is implemented in OCaml and distributed under a BSD license. We have tested the tool on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows/Cygwin.
Developed by GRAPHISOFT, Rhino-Grasshopper-ARCHICAD connections allow architects to leverage the strengths of the three design environments — Rhino, Grasshopper and ARCHICAD — filling a gap in the design process between early stage design and building information modeling (BIM). Now, Mac users can access this unique connection, offering tools beyond seamless bi-directional geometry transfer and allowing basic geometrical shapes to be translated into full BIM elements, while maintaining algorithmic editing functionality.
